Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAUFEY LARA (LAURA) MARTEINSON Laura passed away peacefully at Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg on Tuesday, April 6, 2004. Laura was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her parents and brothers, Eddy, Joe and Mundi Fjeldsted and sisters Sjana Eastman and Stina Goodman. She was also predeceased by her husband of 61 years, John Marteinson in October 1985. Laura is survived by her son, John (Doreen) in Kingston, ON and their sons David and Peter and by her daughter Laurel (Herb) Albertson in Winnipeg and their family, Kari (Dan) Kiazyk, Cindy and Eric. Laura was born in Lundar, MB on July 2, 1905. She moved to Winnipeg in 1920 where she met and married her husband John in 1924. They moved to Langruth in 1930. With her health declining she moved to an apartment in Winnipeg in 1995 and to a personal care home in 2000. At her home in Langruth, Laura took great pride in her flower gardens. Laura was a talented artist and seamstress to the community. She was a master of embroidery, knitting and quilting. She was a life member in the Lutheran Ladies Aid, the Auxiliary to the Legion and the Royal Purple. Laura was a wonderful mother and amma and will be sadly missed by all. Her cheerful and positive outlook was inspirational. Funeral service will be held at the Lutheran Church in Langruth at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 9.
