Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE MADARASZ December 2, 1917 - April 2, 2004 Peacefully, on April 2, 2004 with her family at her side Irene Madarasz passed away. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Brigitte and son Gabor (Kathy) Toronto. Also left are the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Chris and Sarah and Virginia, Nathan, Kristin, Rebecca and Isaac. Anu was born in Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her family. Hard work was a priority and Anu worked as a seamstress and spent countless hours sewing for her family. Anus family was her love and her passion and she was happiest when with them. She was a quiet and private person who enjoyed time talking to her close friends, Edit and Imre, who remained near to her over the years. Anu also enjoyed playing cards and the company of her friends in the apartment where she lived. Although Anus final months were spent in the hospital she was very happy and content. She kept her family and staff upbeat and with her wit and strength and most of all her smile. Anu was always fiercely independent but gave her family the gift of allowing them to care for her during these months. We will always be grateful and forever remember these times. Anu, we love you and we miss you But we know that you were ready You gave the gift of love And you did not need to say. It shone in your eyes and spread with your smile Cremation has taken place and a graveside service was held on Thursday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m., Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Anu to the Canadian Cancer Society. Our family would like to extend a thanks to the staff of 6A south at the St. Boniface Hospital, Dr. Kreek, Dr. Shroeder, and Norm "The physio guy".
