Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERB McCORMICK Peacefully on April 6, 2004 in his home. Herb McCormick passed away at the age of 58. Herb was born December 6, 1945 in Spring Hill, NS, but spent his formative years (1954 - 1969) in Flin Flon, MB. He also lived in Sioux Lookout, ON before moving to Winnipeg in 1973. Herb is lovingly remembered by his wife Kathy of seven years; sons, Robert (Michelle), Craig (Kim) daughter Shari; stepchildren, Carolyn (Darcy) and Aaron Multon; parents, Kit and Ivan McCormick of Kimberley, BC; siblings, Gary (Betty), Kitty, Eric (Pat), Vicki (Orm) and the six grandchildren he cherished so deeply, Danielle, Melanie, Tanner, Allison, Emma, and Nolan. He is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Herb worked for Canada Post for almost 30 years, first in Flin Flon then Sioux Lookout, but many of those years were spent on the night shift at the downtown outlet in Winnipeg where he was known as the "PR" man going from the first floor to the fourth floor visiting every employee and even finding a little romance when he met Kathy. When he went on disability in 1996 he always said he didnt miss the work but he sure missed the people, many of whom he kept in touch with regularly after his retirement. The familys fondest memories of Herb were the times spent "roughing it" or camping and fishing trips up north at his favourite spot in Wukusko Falls, and even when he began losing his sight, he proved he could still catch the big ones with the rest of us. Recently, he spent many summer weekends camping with Kathy at Falcon Lake. He also enjoyed his bowling night with the CCB. A service of remembrance of Herbs life will be held on Monday, April 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Canadian Council of the Blind, 305-960 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R4, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 GARRY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, CEMETERY & CREMATION CENTRE 1291 McGillivray Blvd - 925-1120
