ISAAC (IKE) FRIESEN February 15, 1927 - April 6, 2004 After a lengthy illness and almost a four month stay in hospital, Ike Friesen went to be with his Lord and Saviour on April 6, 2004. He was born on February 15, 1927 to Cornelius and Helena Friesen, in Hordean, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, one brother. He leaves to mourn his passing, but celebrating his life, his loving wife Sarah; daughter Lenora (Lawrence) Penner of Maryfield, SK; daughter Anny (Walter) Tielman of Winnipeg; son Gerry (Ruth) of Abbotsford, BC and son Dale (Heather) of La Broquerie, 10 grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters and their families. Ike enjoyed 52 wonderful years of marriage to Sarah. The last 10 years were difficult with Ikes failing health, but his love and trust for her and his Lord remained strong. For most of his career life, Ike was an engineer enjoying plumbing business. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 1:00 p.m. at the Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church, 500 Lagimodiere Blvd. (South of Royal Canadian Mint) with Pastor Ron Koleba officiating. Viewing will be held Friday, April 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church and prior to the service. Interment will be in the Grunthal Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund (of which Ike was a 40 year member), available at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Rock Fontaine Funeral Director. (204) 223-2546.
