BLANCHE ELLEN SCHOFIELD (nee GUDMUNDSSON/GOODMAN) January 15, 1927 - April 7, 2004 Blanche Schofield of Winnipeg, formerly of Selkirk and East Selkirk, passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital and is finally without pain. Death was no stranger to her, but she always accepted her losses graciously and went on. She always said, Im a survivor. Mom had a myriad of jobs in her life. They were mainly centred around the food service industry. She learned a lot and made many lasting friendships. She was part of a large family: Violet, Alvin, Margaret, and the kids, Lucy, Helga and Arlene in Manitoba, and Roy in B.C. and their families. Mom was known as Auntie Blanche to so many - related by blood or spirit; she was Grandma or Amma Blanche to a select few and Grandmeow to Susie, Rose, Emma and Gracie. She loved you all, dearly, and had a special place in her heart for each and every one of you. On Tuesday, April 20 at 1:00 p.m., a memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 Winakwa Rd., Winnipeg, led by her dear friend Pastor Dean Andersen. Anyone who called her Auntie Blanche or Friend may consider themselves an honourary pallbearer. At a later date, she will be buried beside her beloved husband George, at St. Clements Anglican Cemetery, Mapleton. Thank you all so much for all your love and support over the years. In memory of Mom, please plant a straight row of marigolds or contribute to the charity of your choice. She supported them all. Sincerely, Kathy Schofield. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
