TEENIE NINA KAPEY November 5, 1914 - April 9, 2004 With sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother on April 9, 2004 at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Patricia (Ted) Short; grandson, Patrick; and numerous family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Danny; her parents, Peter and Anna Milan; her brothers, Mike, Walter and Bill Milan. Nina was born in Skylake, MB. Moved to Arborg briefly, then to Winnipeg where she graduated from St. Johns High School. She met the love of her life, Danny, and took the courageous step of moving to Toronto to marry him on July 31, 1938. Nina and Danny moved back to Winnipeg where they spent the rest of their lives. Danny, Nina and Pat loved to travel and camp and saw most of Canada and a great deal of the United States with their campers and trailers. Life was not always easy for Nina, but she always maintained a positive attitude. She was a compassionate, caring person who always helped others in need. Her word was her bond. She never hesitated to help Danny with his trucking business and in later years nursed him through various illnesses. She enjoyed sewing, read extensively, spent hours doing crossword puzzles, and looked forward to planting her flower garden each year. She was an active person, very involved with her family and enthusiastic about life. Her favourite saying was "The best is yet to come." Some of her fondest memories were of the friends made while working at Eatons, family gatherings at Grand Beach and Christmass filled with laughter, singing and good food with the family. She was very proud of her grandson, Patricks, musical ability and she enjoyed listening to him play the piano and later the guitar. They were very close and he often confided in his Baba. The family would like to thank the staff of the MRU at the Victoria and 3 West at Riverview Hospitals for their care of Mom and more recently the Home Care ladies and Community Nurses who made Moms life more comfortable in her later days. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Dearest Mom, I silently watched you rest in deep, comforting, pain-free sleep. Did you know I was with you? How fragile you looked, yet how lovely to me. Vibrant, alive, loving, now only in my memories... Which shall never die. I love you. Pat. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
