WALTER MUCKOSY It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on Saturday, April 10, 2004. Walter leaves to cherish his many memories, his wife Rose, of 60 years; his children, Shirley (Gord) OBrien and Ron; his grandchildren, Sean and Krisanne OBrien and Pamela and Trevor Muckosy; his sisters, Mary Hnituk, Olga Ratchinsky, Ann Pedersen and Martha (John) Shymko; sisters-in-law, Anne and Helen Muckosky; brother-in-law Ed Barron; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter was predeceased by his brothers, Mike and Bill and his sisters, Julia (Melesko) and Nettie (Barron). Walter was born in Arborg, MB and married Rose in 1943. Walter worked in the Flin Flon mines and later moved to Winnipeg, where he worked at Christie Biscuits for 37 years. Walter had a great love for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He took great pride in his gardening and enjoyed making wine from the grapes that he grew from seed. Great times were spent with his friends over coffee. He also loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with Rose. Walter was famous for his storytelling. Many family gatherings would turn to his sharing of entertaining stories on his past. Walter loved carpentry and he built two of his own homes and a cottage. He always had a project on the go. Many happy moments were spent at the cottage with family and friends. Prayers will be held on Thursday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Chapel.
