HARRY SNUGGS It is with sadness we announce the passing of Harry Frederick Snuggs, on Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004. Harry will be missed by his loving wife Muriel; sons, Donald (Betty), Miles (Elaine) and Douglas (Val) his grandchildren, Jennifer (Kelly), Amy (Ryan), Daniel and Matthew; and great-grandson Jack. He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth, Isobel and Lucy; as well as his brother Art. Harry was predeceased by his grandson Stephen as well as his sister Dorothy and brother John. Harry was born August 30, 1912 in Brandon, MB to Selina and Frederick Snuggs. Harry and Muriel were married in 1943 and settled in Winnipeg where they raised their family. Harry was a dedicated employee of Security Storage for 34 years. In his retirement he took up painting and won several awards at the local art shows. He was an avid cyclist and enjoyed taking his grandchildren for long bike rides. Harry will always be remembered for his kind and gentle manner, patience and sense of humour. He was a dedicated husband and father to not only his three sons but to many foster children. His grandchildren were a never-ending source of joy and pride to him. He lived for his family and we will always treasure precious memories of happy times in our hearts. Although daily life became more of a struggle in his last few years Harry showed remarkable courage and strength managing to maintain his good humour in spite of it all. The family would like to thank the staff at Oakview Place for the loving care and compassion shown to Harry over the past few years. A memorial service will be held for Harry on Friday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave., with The Rev. Ian J. E. Mills officiating.
