CLIFFORD CHARLES JOHNSON March 11, 1934 - April 11, 2004 On Sunday, April 11, 2004, Clifford Charles Johnson passed into the hands of our Lord at the age of 70. Leaving to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 47 years Myrtle; and three children, Jeffery (Cindy), Keith (Annette), Darcey (Ken) six grandchildren, Michael, Crystal, Cody, Kaleigh, Travis and Jessica; one sister Doris, from Bluffton, AB; and two brothers, Nels from Calgary and Walter from Winnipeg; one sister-in-law Arlie from Yorkton, SK; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cliff was predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Helen Johnson; his sister Esther; brothers, Ken and Peter; and brothers-in-law, Karl and Ralph. Cliff was born in Russell, MB, and was raised in Garson, MB. He worked power line construction across Canada in his early years. He married the love of his life, Myrtle, in 1957 in Flin Flon, MB. He moved to the United States to continue power line work and raise his children in the small town of Gilberts, IL. In 1975 he returned to Canada to start his own construction company. He resided in West St. Paul for 19 years before moving back to Huntley, IL to work for IBEW Local Union No. 9 until he retired in 2001. Due to his illness, he moved back home for his remaining days. Cliff was a devoted family man and enjoyed his grandchildren immensely. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by anyone who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, April 15, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home with viewing one hour prior, 4477 Main St. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Keith, Michael and Cody Johnson, Ken Smith and Dan Telke. Honorary pallbearers Dave Park, Cliff Smith and Tom Preachuk. Precious Lord, Take my hand, Lead me on, let me stand. I am tired, I am weak, I am worn. Through the storm, through the night, Lead me on to the light. Take my hand, precious Lord, Lead me home.
