Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJACK MENDELSON It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Jack Mendelson, who passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at age 83. Jack was born in Toronto on February 17, 1921. He was raised in the Kensington Market area of Toronto, and received his Medical Degree from University of Toronto, in 1944. Dr. Mendelson was a general practitioner in Nipawin, SK from 1946 until 1953. He married Naomi Oretzki in 1951 and they had a loving relationship for 53 years. In 1956 he completed his residency in ophthamology in New York. The family returned to Winnipeg in 1956. He practiced ophthamology at the Boyd Building until 1995. Jack was grateful for each day of his life and lived it to the fullest. He is mourned with profound sadness by his wife Naomi; children, Peter Mendelson, Leslie Mendelson and Dr. Sherry Taub, and their spouses, Beverly Mendelson, Bruce Keleher, Tzvi Taub; grandchildren, Tamara, Louis, Alex, Eli, Liron and Orly. His funeral was held at Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. The pallbearers were Bruce Keleher, Louis Mendelson, Alex Keleher, Fred Mendelson, Dr. David Atwood, Michael Powell and Dr. Larry Goldstein. The honourary pallbearers were Dr. Harold Atwood, Bernard Springman, Irving Posluns, Dr. Leonard Greenberg, Dr. Leonard Karr and Dr. Allan Goldstein.
