CAROLINE NIEBERGALL November 3, 1914 - April 12, 2004 Caroline Niebergall of Winnipeg passed away peacefully on April 12, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre. She is survived by sister Barbara Potyondi of Melville; brothers, Ernest (Agnes) of Yorkton and Ervin (Eleanor) of Melville. She was predeceased by sisters, Edith and Mary. She was a very proud and caring aunt to three generations of nieces and nephews. Caroline was born and raised on a farm near Melville, SK. She moved to Winnipeg as a young woman and was employed in the occupations of seamstress and fur finisher. Retirement from Eatons after 30 years of service was in 1980. Caroline was a woman with strong Christian values and she lived her faith through numerous volunteering activities with Lutheran Church of the Cross, Health Sciences Centre (HSC), White Cross Guild and other organizations. She received the prestigious Robert Crampton Memorial for volunteering at Health Sciences Centre. She enjoyed travelling and made many trips throughout North America both on church related activities and for personal pleasure. She visited both the east and west coasts of Canada, all provinces in between and throughout the United States including Alaska. She was an avid attendee of travelogues. Caroline always had a keen interest in gardening. Her apartments were filled with many indoor plants. Living on the fifth floor of a condominium did not deter her. It only increased the gardening options. She maintained a large balcony garden during her 20 plus years as owner of a condo. Caroline had many friends. She had fond memories of the regular Sunday after church service get-togethers that she shared with a special group of friends. Among the activities included were fellowship lunches and visits to Assiniboine Park. Funeral service will be held on Friday April 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington St. with Pastor Gilbertson officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Riverview Health Centre for the excellent care that was given to Caroline during her stay at the facility and the courtesy extended to the family throughout. Floral tributes are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the charity of their choice.
