PETER SIEMENS It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Peter on Monday, April 12, 2004 at the Morris General Hospital, at the age of 80 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years Tina; two sons, James and Reginald (Pam), all of Burnaby, BC; daughter Angela Robert (Eugene) of Morris; granddaughters, Michelle and Kimberly Robert, both of Morris; brother Jake Siemens of Penticton, BC; three sisters, Susan Huzel of Calgary, Margaret Blehm of Meade, KS, Helen Young of Winnipeg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter will also be missed by many friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his father John Siemens; mother Margaret Siemens Reimer; his infant son Eugene Peter in 1957; and sisters, Betty Severson in 1957 and Donna Coates in February 2004. Peter was born in Kleefeld in 1923 to John and Margaret Siemens (Reimer) and raised in Rosenort. He worked at Sheller Globe Industries and was involved with various volunteer organizations. He served as vice president and president and was an active member of the Morris Lions Club for many years. Peter was also involved with the Lions Cavalcade for Diabetes, the Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition, Manitoba Hunter Safety, and wherever help was needed. Peter enjoyed travelling with Tina to see their sons in British Columbia. His family was very important and he loved spending time with his granddaughters. Peter enjoyed gardening, and could most often be found tending his bounty during the summer months. Peters family would like to thank the Morris General Hospital staff and Dr. Fraser. Thanks to the Palliative Care Unit for their gentle and caring support. A special thank you to both Kathys, Ginny, and Jim for their kindness. The funeral service will be held at the Morris United Church on Friday April 16 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Rosenort Cemetery. There will be viewing at Morris Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m., and at the church prior to the service. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Morris United Church, Rosenort E.M. Church, Lions Cavalcade for Diabetes, or the Morris General Hospital Palliative Care Program.
