Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySYLVIA EVELYN LAVALLEE (HEALE) Sylvia Evelyn Lavallee (Heale), aged 91 years, of the Middlechurch Home and formerly of 31 Burnaby Bay, Transcona, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Sylvia (Syb) was born April 5, 1913 in Lajord, SK to Josie and Jim Heale. She attended school in Viceroy, SK and and Gunton, MB. She served in the RCAF during the war and was discharged in 1946. She married Jack Lavallee on September 25, 1954 and together they resided at 31 Burnaby Bay until Jacks passing in 1974. Syb continued to live in Transcona caring for her mother. She worked as a secretary-typist for Fisher & Burpee and later at Federated Mutual Insurance where she retired. Syb loved bowling, music, shopping at Eatons and especially attending family functions. She was predeceased by her parents, Josie and Jim Heale; her brother Basil; her sister Coral and brother-in-law Bob Essery. She is survived by her brother Arthur Heale; his wife Vera and family of Richmond, BC. Syb will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by five nieces, Bonnie (Jack) Black, Alma (Ernie) Neufeld, Pat (Earl) Winn, Lynn (Glen) Massey, Sherry (Rob) Hollister; three nephews, Bob (Cookie) Essery, Art (Jenny) Essery and Craig Heale; six great-nephews, Rod (Nancy), Derrick (Judy), Sean (Laura), Ryan (Leeanna) Black, Shawn Essery and Joey Neufeld; seven great-nieces, Tracey (Kevin) Slobogian, Tammy (John) Mulligan, Tara (Lance) Sidor, Cindy Neufeld, Stephanie (Phil) Mager, Erin and Jena Massey, 11 great-great-nieces, 10 great-great-nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are nephews, Rod, Derrick, Sean, Ryan Black, Joey Neufeld, Shawn Essery. The family would like to thank the Middlechurch Home staff and the Seven Oaks Hospital for the care and support given to Syb. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall with interment to follow in Stonewall Cemetery. Rev. Mary Best officiating. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
