OLIVER HIBBITT On Wednesday, April 14, 2004 Oliver Hibbitt of Balmoral, MB passed away at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. Surviving to mourn his loss, one daughter Susan (Jack) one son Ken (Sharol) grandchildren, Robert, Eric, Leslie, Marissa, Kaitlyn; sister Kathy (Tom) Watts and numerous nieces and nephews. Oliver was predeceased by his wife Beatrice and sister Annie McClure. Oliver was born February 22, 1926 at the homestead in Balmoral. He was educated at Ridgeway School. He worked in Winnipeg for Nelson River Construction and farmed. He retired from Nelson River after nine years and took up farming full time until his health prevented him from working in 2001. He married Beatrice on September 1, 1951. Oliver enjoyed baking with his grandchildren. Oliver and Beatrice would bake a birthday cake for anyone they knew who was having a birthday and take it to them. He also was very fond of his garden. A few winters he enjoyed ice fishing with Ken out at Breezy Pint. He preferred to sit on a five gallon pail outside the shack, so he could react quickly when he got a bite. "Casper" the dog and Oliver were inseparable. They very much enjoyed each others company. Prayers will be held on Sunday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Interment will follow at Victoria Cemetery, Balmoral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
