CARL PANSON Despite the long suffering from several health problems, Carl passed away peacefully on April, 13, 2004 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 75 years. He is survived by Yvonne his wife of 51 years; his sister Eleanor and her husband Stosh; his brother Richard and his wife Judith and his nephews, Christian, James and great-nephew Dustyn. He was predeceased by his parents Rose and Charles Panson of Winnipeg. Born in Winnipegs North End where he lived all his life and where he was employed at Winnipeg Old Country (formerly Manitoba Sausage Co.) until a physical disability forced him to quit at the age of 56. Carl was a very quiet man who occasionally liked to tease. We will not forget his twinkling blue eyes and his mischievous grin. Carl kept his sense of humour even after he lost both his legs due to a circulatory problem. When his brother-in-law Stosh would visit him in the hospital and ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "Im doing O.K. Im just two feet shorter." In his youth he had a great passion for fishing which he would try to do as often as he could. He and his sister Eleanor would ride their bicycles from Manitoba Avenue in the North End of Winnipeg all the way to the Lockport to fish at the locks. Carl dearly loved animals and took great joy through the years in pet dogs, Buttons, Melodie, Trixie and more recently Dakota. The family would like to thank Dr. Finlayson and the nurses and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. We would particularly like to thank Ed and his wife Liz for their continuing comfort, support and kindness to Carl and Yvonne for the past several years. Funeral service will take place on Friday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Road, with viewing one half hour prior to the service. Rev. Fr. Ronald Leger c.s.v. will preside. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seven Oaks Hospital, or to a charity of choice.
