ANNE PERISTY (nee KONOWALCHUK) Peacefully on April 13, 2004, Anne passed away at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg with family at her side, aged 81 years. Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Pat (Larry) and Babas grandchildren, Jenny and Jamie; and son Dennis (Janis) and her siblings, Mike, Bill, Mary, Steve and extended family. Anne was predeceased by her husband Steve; brother Metro; and her parents, Hnat and Martha. Anne was born and grew up on a farm in the Ethelbert area that bordered the Duck Mountains. She married Steve in 1941 in Ethelbert, MB, and lived in several locations across Canada. This included Port Arthur, Vancouver and finally settling in 1951 in the North End of Winnipeg. Anne enjoyed socializing, playing bingo, and winning many trophies at bowling. Mom was especially good at playing crib and would gladly beat anyone willing to lose. Mom looked forward to the many family gatherings, both in Winnipeg and out at the farm. She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 141, Ladies Auxiliary for 38 years. Mom will always be remembered for her sweet smile and being cheerful to everyone around her. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the loving care given to Mom from the staff and volunteers of Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Canada, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 16, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with viewing one hour prior.
