PHYLLIS SKLAR (YANICK)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS SKLAR (nee YANICK) Phyllis Sklar of Oakburn, MB, left us peacefully Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at the Morley House Personal Care Home in Shoal Lake, MB. Phyllis was born on March 28, 1917 in Oakburn and was predeceased by her husband Nick in 1978, at which time she resided in Michigan, shortly there after she moved back to Manitoba to be closer to her family. She was also predeceased by her father, Wasyl 1964; mother Anastasia 1953; sisters Nell Scobak of Thunder Bay, Leona Anthony of Winnipeg and Anne Yanick of Oakburn; brothers Stanley, Michael and John Yanick all from Michigan. Phyllis is survived by her brother Nelson Stanwood of Michigan and sisters Marie Colosimo of Thunder Bay, Eleanor (Sid) Corrin of Winnipeg and Hope (George) Ewasuk of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews all who miss her dearly and will remember her for her unbelievable baking, the worlds best jams, also the aromatic and beautiful gardens that she had, especially her prized roses. Her door was always open and her heart was always warm and welcoming. Phyllis was never blessed with children of her own, but had undying love for her numerous nieces and nephews. We will miss you greatly and always remember all of our special times that were shared, till we meet again. As per Phyllis wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held for family and friends at the Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2004. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Morley House Personal Care Home and the staff at Roys Funeral Home, Shoal Lake, MB. 1-204-759-2160 for their dedicated care for Phyllis when she needed you all most.
