JOSEPH PETER STERNASTEK March 16, 1935 - April 13, 2004 Suddenly on Tuesday, April 13, 2004, Joseph Peter Sternastek passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 69 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife of 48 years, Irene; his sons, Richard and Mark (Amanda) his daughters, Laura (Ron) and Susan (Andy) his grandchildren, Kyle, Melissa and Kate, and his step-grandchildren, Christopher and Jessica. Joes life was dedicated to working in the elevator industry, an industry from which he retired after 34 years of service. His passions were his hobby farm, hunting, fishing and wildlife in general. He was known as "Mr. Fix-It", a Jack-of-all-trades. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated by Fr. Carl Tarnopolski at the Mary Mother of The Church Roman Catholic Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr. in Fort Richmond on Friday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the St. Norbert Parish Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Andy Allard, Ron Takeshita, Doug Laurie, Lou Bichon, David DeVos and Peter Lodewyks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joes memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Suite 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6.
