LOIS PEARL STEWART With sadness we announce the passing of Lois Stewart on April 14, 2004 at Deer Lodge Centre. She was predeceased by her parents; her sister Helen; brother-in-law Fred Rew; and nephew Larry. Lois is survived by her niece Linda (Don) Wikander, their sons, Clint and Doug (Megan) daughter Karyn (James) Hope and their sons, Jordan and Zachary; as well as other friends and family. Lois was born on October 1, 1919 to parents Minnie and Serl Stewart in Marchwell, SK. She spent her early childhood in Mt. Hope, WA until the family settled on a farm in Gladstone, MB. As a young woman, she moved to Winnipeg and began her long career with Hudson Bay, first with the Northern Stores, and eventually as one of the early computer programmers. A longtime member of Knox United Church, she was an independent and caring woman with many friends but always with time for family. "Auntie Lois" will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
