JEAN MARIE DEARLOVE (BURTON)

JEAN MARIE DEARLOVE (nee BURTON) Jean passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at the age of 78. She leaves to mourn her husband Gordon; her daughter Irene; and her son Allan (Ann). She also leaves her brother Keith (Anne) her sister-in-law Nan and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Theodore and Elizabeth; her brother Calvin; and her son-in-law Guy. Jean was born on July 2, 1925 in Kelwood, MB. Along with her family, she moved to Balmoral at a young age and grew up there. She trained to be a nurse, and most of her career was spent doing home care. She was very caring and compassionate, and spent most of her life looking after people. She also had a soft spot for all animals, in particular cats. Jean married Gordon Dearlove on November 12, 1959. Together, they worked a grain farm near Petersfield for many years before moving to Selkirk in 2000. In accordance with Jeans wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. Interment will take place privately at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctor and staff at Red River Place in Selkirk for their care and compassion over the last four years that Jean resided there. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeans name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to the "no kill" animal shelter of your choice.
