DAVID HAROLD LECLERC Peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2004, David H. LeClerc passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. David is survived by his wife Yaroslava; sister-in-law Olya (Bohdan) brother-in-law Michael (Indira) niece Madison and nephew Stephan. He was predeceased by his most beloved daughter Rieja in 2002, and both parents. David was born on Sunday, February 20, 1949 in Portage la Prairie. After spending his early adolescence in Holland with his mother, they came back to Canada, and settled in Winnipeg. He graduated from Tec Voc High School, and Red River Community College with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology. At the time of his death, David had been employed at New Flyer for many years. Davids main passion was motorcycle racing, particularly at Brainerd, Minnesota, in which he was very successful. He would travel great distances to participate in a race. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. with Rev. Msgr. Maurice J. Comeault P.H., V.F., officiating. Service will terminate at the funeral chapel with cremation to follow. The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at St. Boniface Hospital (5th floor) for their care of David.
