Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA MANKEWICH (nee BALAN) On April 15, 2004, our Mother Olga Mankewich (nee Balan) left us to be with her beloved husband Stanley. She will be missed but never forgotten by all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her daughter, Julia (Bert) Harder, their children, Angela (Steve) Fedorchuk, Linnea (Craig) Blagden, their daughters, Cailyn and Nicole; Greg, James and Charles; daughter, Phyllis (Bill) Thompson; son, Harold (Margaret) Mankewich, their children, Chris, Allen, Andrew and Marnie; son, Eugene (Barb) Mankewich, their daughters, Elyce and Kassia; brother, Fred Balan and sister, Stella Lysyk. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Stanley, her father and mother, Harry and Mary Balan; her brother, Mike; sisters, Helen Hamrlik and Anne Sliwa. Mom was born in the Dallas, Manitoba area, where she spent most of her life. She met and married Stanley there and together they built a farm and had their family. Life was not always easy raising a family and working on the farm, but she never complained and her love for her family always carried her through the tough times. She touched so many lives with her kindness and gentle spirit and for that she will always be remembered. Mom always welcomed anyone who came into our home and made them feel like a part of the family. Mom enjoyed the outdoors with her gardening and flowers. Holidays with her were a special time for family and friends because of the traditional cooking and baking. In later years she enjoyed her cruises and travelling to many other destinations. Even as times changed and she got older that part of her never did. From one generation to the next, children to grandchildren to great grandchildren, she was always the same Mom and for that we are ever so thankful. We shall miss her, but never forget her. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 11:00am at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church in Fisher Branch, MB. Interment will be at Red Rose Community Cemetery in Red Rose, MB. Father Peter Chorney will be officiating. Pall bearers will be her grandchildren. Mom You can only have one Mother, Loving, kind and true No other friend in all the world Will be so true to you For all her love and kindness She asked nothing in return If all the world deserted us To our Mother we could turn For those of you who have a Mother Treasure her with care For you will never know her value Til you see she is not there To hear her voice to see her smile To sit and talk with her a while To be together in the same old way Would be our dearest wish today Vichnaya Pamyat Arrangements in care of Fisher Funeral Home, Fisher Branch, MB.
