Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY DUNCAN ROLLASON Peacefully with his family by his side, Harry Duncan Rollason, of Chatham, Ontario, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, St. Josephs Campus, on March 28, 2004. Born July 12, 1936, in London, Harry is survived by his best friend and wife, Marilyn (Harris), son Kevin and wife Gail (MacAulay) of Winnipeg, daughter Karen and Steve Hartai of Chatham, and grandaughters Natalie, Samantha, Sarah and Mary. Harry is also survived by his father, Harry, of Chatham, his sister Patricia Inns (Doug), of Tupperville, mother-in-law Flora Campbell, of London, and brother-in-law Don Harris (Louise), of London. Harry was predeceased by his mother, Jessie Isa (McFarlane), and brother-in-law Ed Harris (Bev). Harry was often heard saying that his first job as a London Free Press carrier with 200 customers was the hardest job he ever held. Harry worked at Ellis Don Construction for two years where he met his wife of 45 years. Harry worked for 42 years at Union Gas before the company finally agreed to let him retire Dec. 1, 1999. Harry was a past president of Chatham Kiwanis, and chairman of the Canadian Gas Association, the North American Gas Association, and first Canadian chairman of the American Gas Association. Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 31, at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham, with Gordon Reynolds of the Salvation Army officiating. Interment was at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
