JOHN (FRED) WIVCHAR 1916 - 2004 The family announces the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. John peacefully passed away at his home on April 17, 2004 with his loving family by his side. (Fred) Wivchar 1916 to 2004. Born in Ridgeville, MB to Magdellina and Mike Wivchar. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife Noreen (Proutt) daughter Eleanor Yakel (Kent) grandchildren, Gordan, Carolyn of British Columbia, Noreen, family Michael Blaschuk (Karen) Courtenay Steven, Chelsea, Coral; and great-grandson Daniel; Douglas Blaschuk (Susan), Patricia Poitras (Rod), Liviya, Nicholas, Natalie. Mary Meilleur (Kevin), Cody, Wyatt; also one sister Elsie Mulski. He was predeceased by his first wife Kay, his parents and brother Steve. John lived most of his life in the North End of Winnipeg and Elmwood area. John was employed at the Winnipeg Hydro for 36 years (1945 to 1981) and was a current member of the I.B.E.W. Electrical Union for 59 years. He was able to enjoy many good years of retirement travelling across Canada, going south on winter vacations or just going to his cottage at Muriel Lake (Ontario) and fishing with his good friend Emil and the boys. I would like to thank the doctor and nurses at the Health Sciences and Seven Oaks Dialysis Unit and Palliative Care for the excellent treatment John received while in their care. They are special people. Thank you also to our friends and family who phoned or visited John and I, during Johns illness, especially Murray who gave John spiritual comfort from Gods word the Bible. It was truly appreciated. At Johns wishes cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
