WILLIAM JOHN CARLSON On Thursday, April 15, 2004, William John Carlson passed away in the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, B.C. Bill was the loving husband of Corinne with whom they had one daughter Suzanne Hurry (Karl) who provided them with a wonderful grandson, Seth. Also surviving are Bills brother Jim (Diane) and their five children. There are many more nieces and nephews on his wifes side, as well as cousins in Ontario, B.C. and throughout the States. Bill was predeceased by his father and mother and several aunts and uncles. Bill was born on May 29, 1945 in St. John, NB. In 1946 the family moved to Winnipeg where Bills father became a professor of Engineering at U of M. Bill received most of his education in Winnipeg, at River Heights, Grosvenor, Kelvin, Churchill and lastly, U of M. He also spent one year at UND in Grand Forks. All of Bills working career was spent in Winnipeg, a vast majority of which was with MPI. After retiring in 2000, he and Corinne moved to the home they had built at Grand Pines Golf Resort. Two years later Bill and Corinne moved to Gabriola Island, B.C. to continue their retirement. Bill was a loving husband, Father and friend in all with whom he had contact throughout his lifetime and will be missed greatly. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 22 at St. Georges Crescentwood Anglican Church, 168 Wilton St. at Grosvenor Avenue at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of your choice or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Chapter, or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Manitoba.
