B. EDNA McBRIDE (ROGERS) Sadly on April 16, 2004 Edna passed away at Grace Hospital. She joins her husband of 64 years, Lloyd, who left us in February of this year. She is survived by her loving son Roger and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Edna was born on May 2, 1917 in Dauphin and grew up on the family farm near Plumas. She attended school in Plumas and Gladstone where she met her future husband Lloyd. She received further education at Bradley University in Illinois and later became a high school teacher specializing in business and law classes. Her first teaching job was at Nelson McIntyre Collegiate in Winnipeg. In 1965 she moved with husband and son to Saskatoon. There she taught at Holy Cross and Mount Royal Collegiate. While in Saskatoon she became secretary and later President of the Saskatchewan Business Teachers Association. Edna loved teaching and was well respected by her pupils and peers. She also took great interest and pride in her work with the Mount Royal Drama Department. Mum worked hard to ensure her familys success and no job seemed too daunting if it would help her husband or son. She was dedicated to both family and work and somehow found time to do it all with love. After returning to Winnipeg in the late 70s she was able to indulge her passion for painting and produced many fine works. Mum was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed participating in their many activities. "Ted", as she was affectionately known to her husband and closest friends, loved life and was always ready to have a little fun. She was a beautiful and stylish woman and she and Dad made a very fine looking couple. Mum took an active interest in Canadian history and was proud of her country and her family history. Her wonderful spirit will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the staff at Tuxedo Villa Home for their dedicated care. Service will be held for both Lloyd and Edna at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 23 at Charleswood United Church. For information contact Neil Bardal Cremation Services 949-2200.
