Born: Feb 24, 1918
Date of Passing: Apr 15, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL CHOLOD Peacefully in the early morning of Thursday, April 15, 2004, Mike left this earth. Mike was born on February 24, 1918 in beautiful Ukraine. He spent a few horrible years during the war in and out of concentration camps in Germany, but never losing faith that the war would end. In August 1947 he came to Canada to live with his sister, niece and nephews whom he talked highly of. Mike worked for 25 years at The Bay downtown and loved it. He also did gardening and had the best kept lawn. We will always treasure the stories, opinions, advice given and will remember you were always right. We would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for giving him the best care and allowing him the wish of peacefully coming home that day. Special thanks to Steve, Stephanie, Steven, Alda and Steve, Robert, Peter, Mom, Dad and Doug for being there for Mike in his hours of need. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 17 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, with interment at All Saints Cemetery. A lilac tree will be planted and cared for in memory of Mike by Mario his care giver. May he rest in peace, knowing well miss him.
