RUTH MARGARET ASHLEY (nee JAGGER) On Monday, August 25, 2003, Ruth Margaret Ashley of Portage la Prairie passed away at the age of 84 years with her wonderful friend Hazel by her side. Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth and son, Dwayne, she is survived by her loving daughter, Myrna and son-in-law, Richard Pears; devoted niece, Lynne Steppler and several more nieces and nephews. Ruth was a nurse, and worked at numerous hospitals including Morden and Bisset, MB, Drumheller, AB and the Portage District General Hospital. Ruth became Director of the Lions Prairie Manor at its inception in 1971 until her retirement (approximately 13 years) after which time she remained an active member of the community. A graveside service will take place on Monday, April 26, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the CNIB, P.O. Box 32002 STN. BRM B, Toronto, ON M7Y 5R2 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. The Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie are in care of arrangements.
