SIGRIDUR (SIGGA) PAGE (nee NORDAL) September 9, 1904 - Tuesday, April 20, 2004 With sadness we announce that, peacefully, on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at the St. Josephs Residence, our dear mother went to be with her Lord. Predeceased by husband James Henry Page; son Roy Page; daughter-in-law Soley (Palson) Page; son-in-law Peter Hucul; granddaughters, Barbara (Handfield) Page, Shelly (Reiman) Page; sisters, Runa Sveignson and Florence Henry; brothers, Siggi, Jonas and Mundi. She is survived by daughters, Jonina Hucul, Dorothy Eyolfson (Wally) and Irene Morrison (Jim) sons, James (Joyce), Gordon (Lil) and Arnold (Jo). Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mom is also survived by brother Einar Nordal and sisters Joey Couves and Lillo Johnson. Mothers early years were spent at Geysir, Hnausa and Winnipeg, MB. Summers were spent at the family cottage at Gimli and retirement years at Mesa, Arizona and the summer home at Hnausa, MB. During Moms later years she resided at Betelstadur, Fred Douglas Lodge and St. Josephs Residence. Mom took great pleasure in sharing abundantly all that was hers with her friends and family. Some of Moms greatest pleasures were her trip to Iceland with her dear friend Rebna Einarson, as well as knitting, crocheting afghans and baking vinatertas, giving away as many as 18 to 20 as Christmas gifts to her family and friends. Another specialty Mom was noted for was her cinnamon twists. The family wishes to offer its gratitude to the staff at St. Josephs, particularly the nurses and caregivers, for the care and kindness they extended to our Mother, Nana, and Amy. In lieu of flowers, should friends and family so desire, contributions in Siggas memory may be made to the First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 1R2. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor St. with Pastor Michael Kurtz officiating, with lunch to follow in the Parish Hall. Pallbearers will be six of her grandsons.
