Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD A. WOWRYK Edward A. Wowryk of Brandon and formerly of Shoal Lake, passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, on Wednesday, April 21, 2004. Edward will be missed by his wife of 56 years Jean; son Larry (Debbie) Wowryk and granddaughter Courtney Wowryk of Shoal Lake; daughter Julie (Earl) Glabush of Brandon. Also surviving are brother Frank (Helen) Wawryk of Winnipeg and sister Helen Haiko of Winnipeg, sister-in-law, Florence Wowryk of Shoal Lake and many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his father John, brother Mike and mother Caroline. Edward was born on January 5, 1922, at the farm in Rossburn, MB. The family moved to Shoal Lake to farm and Edward attended Green Bluff School. He helped his father on the farm and enjoyed playing baseball and became a good skater. Farming became Edwards passion and in 1948, he married Jean Peech and together they farmed. When Larry graduated, he stayed on the farm and they became partners. When dad wasnt seen on the tractor or beside the cows you would see him with his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards or watching sports on tv. In 1989, Edward and Jean moved the town of Shoal Lake, but he still went to the farm everyday. Dads kidneys failed in March of 2001, and he started dialysis in Brandon. It was a big change for him because he missed the farm. Dialysis was hard on dad and he decided that he wanted to quit dialysis. We, the family, went along with his wishes. The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt thanks to Dr. Riche and the nurses at Dialysis. Also thank you to the nurses of the Palliative Unit on the second floor of the Assiniboine Centre for making dad as comfortable as possible during his short stay. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Helens Roman Catholic Church, Shoal Lake, with interment following in the parish cemetery. Prayers will be said on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Rev. Michel Nault will officiate. Pallbearers are Larry Lukaschuk, Brian Nykoliation, Ken Wowryk, Rhonne Hladun, Dion Peech, and Wayne Ewachewski. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake and Erickson are in care of arrangements. (204) 759-2160.
