ALEXANDER (ALEX) HOPLOCK Peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, Alex Hoplock, aged 79 years joined the love of his life Louise at their final resting place in Heaven. Alex was born on Saturday, May 24, 1924 in Overstoneville, MB. On Saturday, October 25, 1952 he married Louise Ulrich, and they resided in various towns throughout Manitoba. In 1955 he moved to Cardale where he lived for 22 and one half years, during this time he was an active member in the Cardale Sports Club. Alex worked for he Canadian National Railway until he retired in 1979. After his retirement from the CNR Alex moved to Fraserwood, his wifes hometown, where he did what he loved most, farming. Alex was a faithful and dedicated member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church, Teulon, MB. He loved the game of curling whether playing or watching. He leaves to cherish his memory Ted and Lynn and special great-nephews, Justin and Trevor; two sisters, Anne Storochuk and Mary Wishnicki and sister-in-law Hazel Hoplock; along with Bob (Mary) Mahara, Bill Mahara and numerous nieces and nephews. Alex was predeceased by his wife Louise in 1992; both parents, Petro and Hafia; along with his five brothers, William, Jack, Steve, Mike and Henry. A devotional service will be held on Sunday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Funeral service (viewing prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m.) with service immediately following on Monday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Peters Lutheran Church, Teulon) off of Hwy. #7 - in the town of Teulon), with Pastors Claire Speary and Larry Ulrich officiating. After the reception at the Church entombment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens in the Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum. Active pallbearers will be messrs: Dewey, Randy and Bob Hoplock, Garry Wasylowski, Rudy Singbiel and John Trepanier. Honorary pallbearers will be messrs: Wally Hnylycia, Kenny Wishnicki, Lyle Eby, Brian Fraser, Bob Mahara, Jay and Ric Paquette, Mathew Sarama and Lloyd Genoway. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the Teulon Ambulance, as well as The Interlake RCMP Detachment, Ronnie and Judy Hayduk and Dr. S.V. Patel for all his years of caring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. "A heart of gold stopped beating hard working hands went to rest.
