STELLA MUCZ 1910 - 2004 On Wednesday, April 21, 2004 our mother, grandmother and good friend passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 93. The only child of Harry and Barbara Kurpita, Stella was born June 30, 1910 in Lviv, Ukraine. She married Nicholas and came to Canada in 1934 where they homesteaded in Oakburn, MB for 13 years. They moved to Winnipeg in 1946. Stella was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church and was especially proud of her association with the Ukrainian Catholic Womens League of Canada, which honoured her for 50 years of service. Tradition and love of family were always alive at Babas house. She loved to cook and entertain, and was most happy when she had her family at her table. We will never forget the many occasions where we all shared her wonderful home cooked meals, whether it be a holiday or just a Sunday dinner. Left to cherish Stellas memory are her children, Olha Salabay (Michael) in Ukraine, Walter (Ruby) of Winnipeg, Sophie (Eddie) of Steinbach and Mary Miller of Calgary; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; Bill and Anne Matview and their family who were very special in Moms life. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas on March 4, 1985. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 26 at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave., with Rt. Rev. Mitrat J. Holowaty, Rt. Rev. Canon W. Klimchuk and Rev. Deacon G. Mendres officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. We would like to thank Dr. T. Babick for his years of compassionate care of our mother. His visits were a constant highlight to her. We would also like to thank the caring staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd Floor, Unit 4 for their kindness, especially Joanne. We thank you Mom, Baba, for your faith, your unconditional love and your hard work ethic. You have been an inspiration to us all, and that will be our strength. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. CHRYSTOS VOSKRES KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
