RONALD JOSEPH CAMPBELL It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. After a lengthy illness, on April 21, 2004, Mr. Ron Campbell passed away at the Thompson General Hospital at the age of 43 years. Beloved husband of Anita Campbell of Thompson. Ron was born in Dauphin, MB on June 3, 1960 and lived in Duck Bay until his family moved to Thompson in 1968. Ron was employed with INCO Ltd. as a miner for 23 years. Ron loved spending time with his family and friends. Fishing, camping and being outdoors was Rons passion. He had a great sense of humour and loved to make people laugh. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his beloved wife Anita; his sons, Ryan (Pauline) and Bradley; mother Rita Campbell; brother Martin (Sarah) Campbell; sisters, Ruth Flett, Joanne Campbell and Barbara Campbell; mother-in-law Ida Lamirande; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear friends. He was predeceased by his father Jonas Campbell; grandparents, William and Emily Campbell and George and Alice Delaronde; as well as special friend Mike Deitz. In 2003, he was diagnosed with cancer and fought a long and hard battle with much strength and great dignity. He lived his cancer experience just as he lived his life, thoughtfully, constructively, courageously but most of all generously. Ron appreciated all the love, kindness and support he received from his family and many friends. The family would like to thank the 2nd floor nursing staff and attending physicians of the Thompson General Hospital for their care and kindness they extended to Ron. A special thanks is extended to Margaret Paradis of CancerCare Manitoba who was there every step of our way. Pallbearers are Walter Lamirande, Darren Fulford, Raymond Delaronde Jr., Ron Campbell, Andy Boulard, Randy Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Parks, Harold Delaronde, John Genaille, Curtis Flett and Clifford Delaronde. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We lived in Thompson in 1969 where Michael and Ronnie met. They were and are again best friends. Michael and Ronnie did absolutely everything together. Ronnie taught Mike to shoot lemmings in the bush, and lots of native words and not necessarily the good ones. I had occasion to meet up with Ron on a few of his Winnipeg visits, we'd sit around and tell remember whens. Ron Campbell you were a good and great man, you will be and are greatly missed, so sorry to all the Campbells may God bless and be with you always xoxo - Posted by: Denise Deitz (Little sister of Michael Deitz) on: Jul 02, 2014
