ANTHONY HUBERT DEAN (October 20, 1917 - April 21, 2004) It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anthony (Hughie) Dean. He lived a full life of strong duty, good humour, and love for his family. At age 17, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force travelling all over the world. He learned a trade in laundering, and retired from the Air Force with a rank as Sergeant in Germany in 1967. Afterwards, he managed the laundry services at the Municipal Hospital here in Winnipeg and retired in 1982. He enjoyed his winters in Arizona, gardening, cooking, walks in the park, and the laughter of his grandchildren. Age 86, he died peacefully at Victoria General Hospital with his loving family at his side. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Rosa; his children, Erwin (Sherry), Aldrin (Sheri), Virgil (Delaney) grandchildren, Michelle, Von, Ean, Brennon, Jessie, Evan, Sam; nephews, Ray Ferland, Almario (Marites) Prado, Gerry (Marife) Prado; cousins, Alex, Don (Lola) Patnaude, Art Patenaude. He was predeceased by parents, Horace and Olivine Dean; sisters, Dora and Rose Ferland; brothers, Albert and Cyril. A visitation will be held at the church at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg with Rev. Dr. Patrick Morand presiding. Interment service will follow in St. Vital Parish Cemetery. Following interment, the gathering of friends will be held back at St. Vital Parish.
