(Electrical Engineering - 1934) University of Manitoba, retired professional engineer and senior manager, Canadian General Electric Company, Peterborough, ON from 1935 to 1972. Dad passed away quietly in his sleep Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Centennial Place in Millbrook. He was in his 98th year. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Malby of Winnipeg. Beloved husband of the late Olive Rourke and the late Chalmers Frisken. Arthur is survived by his sons, Robert (Doris) of Burleigh Falls and George (Heather) of Whiterock, BC; grandson Mark Malby of Hong Kong; granddaughters, Christa Spalding and Karen Gardner of Toronto, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by daughter Margaret, of Peterborough; brothers, George of Surrey, BC, Fred of Winnipeg, Fred of England; sisters, Marion Engstrom of Winnipeg, Florence Hulbert of Calgary, Margaret Spearin of Winnipeg, Ethel Mark of Ottawa and Doris Rothney of Winnipeg. Memorial service at Trinity United Church, Peterborough on Tuesday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Boehme officiating. The family wishes to extend a very special thanks to the staff of both Centennial Place (Heritage Wing), for the kind and gentle care they provided Dad over the past 8 months, and to the staff of Applewood Manor for their dedication over the previous 12 years. Expressions of sympathy through donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of your chnoice would be appreciated by the family. Well Dad, you sure were a wonderful inspiratio to us all. You touched the lives of so many with your dedication. Your endless energy and trademark whistling of tunes during your regular daily walks throughout life will be missed, but we know Mom is happy that youre together again.
