MARGARET POCHAILO It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our Mom and Grandma after a sudden illness on Saturday, April 17, 2004, in Vancouver, BC. Her memory will be forever cherished by her children, Carol Barthelette (Dale Romanyck) Surrey, BC, Janice Funke (Dale) of Langley, BC, Stephen Pochailo (Maureen) of Arborg, MB, Stanley Pochailo (Debbie) of Winnipeg, MB, Jodi Janzen (Michael) of Vancouver, BC. Grandma will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Pamela Barthelette, Jamie and Joel Funke, Colin Pochailo, Shane, Corey, Ryan Pochailo and Melanie and Andrew Janzen. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony) in 1998. Margaret was born August 8, 1928 in Sturgeon Falls, ON and was the daughter of the late Grant Hanlan Chellew and Rose Thomas of Sudbury, ON. She married Tony in Brantford, ON April 21, 1949 and raised their children in several locations in Ontario due to Tonys employ with CNR. They moved to Winnipeg with their family in 1963 and Margaret worked for many years at the Victoria General Hospital, where she made many special friendships, that she carried through the years. Throughout her life, Margarets needs were always placed behind that of her children and grandchildren. She was an avid supporter of her children, and in particular, the Riverview Mudhens baseball team, on which all of her family played. She moved to Langley, BC in 1994 with her daughters, and she took an active role in the raising of her grandchildren, Melanie and Andrew. All of her grandchildren were the light of her life and what she lived for each day. She was a friend to all who knew her, and her compassion for others was genuine. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, April 30 at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church at Arnold and Osborne, Winnipeg, with Fr. Henry Laciak officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Margarets memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
