HAROLD EDGAR SHIELLS 1914 - 2004 Peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2004 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Mr. Harold Shiells passed away at the age of 89 years. He is survived by one son Harvey (Marion) grandchildren, Ken (Laura), Tannis (Bryan) and great-granddaughter Tiffany, also one brother Lyndon. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret, parents, Walter and Clara Shiells; sisters, Edith and Florence and brothers, Gordon and Earl. Harold was born in Cornwall, ON and moved to Steep Rock, MB as a young child. At 16 he moved to Winnipeg, where he began working for Canada Packers, where he stayed until he retired in 1979. In 1937 he married Margaret Bessie Lawrie and enjoyed 55 years of marriage till Margarets death in 1992. Harold was a lifetime member of the Elks. He and "Bessie" enjoyed the symphony, Ballet, Prairie Theatre Exchange and the Manitoba Theatre Centre for many years. The family spent many summers at White Lake where they fished, hiked and relaxed. Harold was an avid curler and enjoyed many years of curling at the St. Vital Curling Club as well as the Heather Curling Club. In the early 90s Harold took up golf, which he enjoyed for many years. The family would like to thank Red Goodman, Jim Forsythe and Brenda Horton for all their support over the years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd. Pastor Don Engel presiding with interment to take place at Brookside Cemetery.
