CAPTAIN JAMES ROGER (JIM) WOODMAN It is with deepest sorrow we announce the sudden passing of the sunshine of our lives on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Jim fought a courageous battle and succumbed to complications with his illness, at the age of 51. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Debby; children, Vanessa, James and Cole. Siblings - Julian, Rossita and Linda, many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family, too many to list. Jim served 28 years with the Winnipeg Fire Department where he achieved the rank of Captain and the respect of his fellow fire fighters, not only on the job but also in the kitchen and at the card table. Jim will be remembered by other titles like coach, mentor, teacher and hero. He had the amazing ability to inspire others to look beyond their limitations. He touched the lives of so many people with his heart of gold. Jim experienced all the flavors of life by living it to the fullest. He was also an accomplished businessman, whose interests included flying, fishing, travelling and golfing. Jim, you have inspired many and are truly a reflection of those that surrounded you, who admire you and love you for who you are. We are so proud of you. Rest in peace and practice your golf swing in heaven because well be lined up for a re-match someday. We miss you already with all our hearts and souls...with deepest love forever. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Ave. A special thank you to friends and family for their love and support. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to a Scholarship Fund set up for Cole Barrett Woodman at the Scotia Bank. Pembina and Killarney Branch.
