Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID JAMES WILSON On April 22, 2004, David James Wilson of St. Albert passed away at the age of 59 years. David James Wilson, loving husband, father, brother and favourite Uncle, passed away on April 22, 2004. He leaves behind his wife Shirley, children Ben and Ali, their mother Elinor and special family pet, Georgie. He will also be greatly missed by his brother Larry and his family (Trish, Sean & Chris) in Vancouver, his sister Liz Simmons and her family (John, Amy & Paul) in Calgary, his mother-in-law Jean French in Gimli, Manitoba and by numerous other relatives and friends. David was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Merle Wilson. David was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a generous, funny and charming man who touched many people. Shirley and David moved to St Albert four and a half years ago from their home in Winnipeg and have since been welcomed into the community with open arms. David worked in the food service industry for almost 40 years with Eatons, Aramark and Complete Purchasing Services. In 1999 he was Games Food Services Manager for the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, serving meals to over 20,000 athletes and volunteers and a million visitors. He was past President and longstanding board member of the Manitoba Restaurant Association and was recently an active board member and President-elect of the Canadian Association of Food Service Professionals. David served the community through numerous charitable and volunteer organizations including, most recently, the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton and the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce Trade Show Committee. The family wishes to thank Dr. John Clarke and the nursing staff of the Sturgeon Community Hospital; Dr. Doug Matheson and the nursing staff of the Royal Alexandra Hospital; and Dr. Karen Mulder of the Cross Cancer Institute for all their care and compassion. A Memorial service will be held at St. Albert Funeral Home, St. Albert Trail & St. Vital Avenue, on Tuesday, April 27 at 2:00 pm. A Memorial service will also be held on July 5, 2004 in Winnipeg with service details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Ave, Edmonton, AB, T6G 1Z2.
