Offer Condolences or MemoryMINERVA MARY (CHADDIE) MACLAREN (nee CARABIN) January 8, 1918 - April 24, 2004 In the early hours of Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Winnipegs Victoria General Hospital, in the arms of her son John, Chaddie departed. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Jack (John) and Pauline Carabin; and her only sibling, brother Mickey. Still the beauty to her final moments she will be dearly missed by sister-in-law Florence Christie; nephews, Doug Christie (Patty) and Bruce Christie (Lori) and nieces, Bev Carabin and Eileen (Don) Murdock. An independent force, Chaddie loved all animals (especially her dog Rufus), was a talented artist and cook, badminton and tennis player. She and husband Bob spent many wonderful years at their cottage on ZigZag Island in Clearwater Bay and were able to spend numerous winters in Palm Springs enjoying the company of many other Snowbirds. Bobs onset of Alzheimers took a toll in her final years, and it was the honoured pleasure of her son John to spend the last year and a half caring for her health and quality of life. A memorial service, followed by reception, will be held at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Highway No. 1 East at Navin Road. ("on the way to the Lake") at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 29.
