ROSE CORKAL (nee MOROZ) May 4, 1915 - April 26, 2004 It is with great sorrow and sadness that the family of Rose Corkal announces her sudden passing on April 26, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre. Roses memory will forever be cherished by her two sons, Mercil and wife Elizabeth, Bob and wife Maureen; grandchildren, Darrell (Patti) from Saskatoon, SK, Darcy (Brenda) from Winnipeg, MB, Kim Toews (Kevin) from Morris, MB, Glynis from Winnipeg, MB and Bryan (Jacqueline) from St. Louis, MO, as well as nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Teenie Olyarnick and Eileen Humeny from Gimli, MB and brother Mike Moroz (Helen) from Winnipeg, MB. Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph in August 1996; her parents Anna and Wasyl Moroz; brother Alex; sisters, Margaret Grabowecki and Mary Kowalchuk. Rose was a very talented and artistically inclined handicrafts person, having taught ceramic classes in Gimli for several years in addition to participating in numerous other crafts. She was also an accomplished avid gardener. Rose and Joe spent many happy winters as snowbirds in Texas prior to Joes demise in 1996. Prayers will be held on Friday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli, MB. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gimli, MB with the Rev. Fr. P. Chorney officiating. Interment to follow in the Fraserwood Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB Inc., 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 9Z9, the Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gimli, MB R0C 1B0.
