WINNIE NEVILLE WRIGHT (nee WILKINSON) November 29, 1910- April 27, 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Winnie Wright at 93 years of age. She resided at 73 Harbison Ave. from her childhood until her late 80s. Left with memories to cherish are her loving son Robert; daughter-in-law Carol; granddaughters, Tracy-Leigh Wright, Karen Numrich (Scott) great-granddaughters, Rebecca and Meagan Numrich and nieces and nephews - Jill Hocking, Pat Butterworth, Shirley Johnson, Bill Wright (Liz), Marlene Thompson (Bill). Winnie was predeceased by her loving husband Harry. Winnie will be remembered for her zest and love of life. Her passions included gardening, sports and travel. Winnie curled and lawn bowled well into her 80s and was a life time member of the Elmwood and Prince Edward Legion Ladies and Mixed Curling Clubs and the Chalmers and Mosienko Bowling Alleys. She won numerous trophies and bonspiels over the years - most notably The Manitoba Senior Ladies Zone Winner and Provincial runner-up in 1969-1970. Other athletic accomplishments include the Ladies District Curling Championships in 1952, 1955, 1959 and 1960. In 1969 she became a member of the 8 Ender Club. She won the Provincial Pairs Lawn Bowling Championship in 1974. The family would like to like to express their gratitude to the wonderful caring staff at Middlechurch Personal Care Home. The family would like to invite friends to share in a celebration of Winnies life on Friday, April 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave., Winnipeg.
