NORMAN ELLIS MILLER On April 28, 2004 Norman (Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa) passed away peacefully at home with family at his side at the age of 87 years. Norman farmed with his father, later he went to Ontario to work cutting pulp, where he got his call to join the military and served from 1939 to 1946. After Norman got his discharge from overseas, he returned home to his family and the life he loved. Norman was happiest with a sealer of tea, his John Deere tractor and some land to farm. He was a perfectionist in whatever he did. Norman will always be remembered for his smart wit and one-liners that will be passed down throughout the generations. He leaves to mourn his wife Lucy; his four children, Bonnie, Larry, Glenn and Heather; six grandchildren, Shanna, Jay, Jamie, Tyler, Evan and Elliot; three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Rylee and Braeden; special cousins, Gerry, Warren, Harold and Lloyd Miller; and special friend Rhonda Penny. Norman was predeceased by his mother Sophia, father Sid, brother Bob and grandchild Chris. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ashern Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery. Friends and relatives may pay their respects from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1 at the Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. Viewing also at the hall prior to the service. Pallbearers will be his four grandchildren, Tyler, Jay, Jamie, and Shanna, also Bob McQuigge, and Rhonda Penny. Honorary pallbearers will be the Noordenbos family, Allison (Sam deceased), all of his army buddies, and his neighbours. The family would like to thank Dr. Isaacs, Patsy Klyne, and all the home care workers, also to John Gray and Glen Arnason.
