ANNE KUBISH (nee MAZUR) July 13, 1916 - April 28, 2004 Peacefully and with dignity, Anne passed away on Wednesday at Red River Personal Care Home, Selkirk, MB, (formerly of Winnipeg). Survived by her son Norman (Eleanor) Edmonton, AB; daughter Joan (Ray) Thorsteinson, Selkirk, MB; daughter-in-law Margaret Harker, Patricia Beach, MB; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ada (Donald) Post, Minnie Krawchuk, Jean Kulbaba, Janice (Barrie) Harfield, Bernice (Rudy) Kulbaba, Pat Hancherak; plus numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Casmier Mazur; husband John; sons, Glen, Larry, Randy and Gordon; grandchildren, Kevin Thorsteinson, Jason Kubish and Shelley Thorsteinson; brothers, Joe, Bill Mazur; and sister Mary Hlatkey. Anne was born in Brokenhead, MB. She married John October 23, 1938 together they raised their children in Winnipeg. Anne was a very hard worker, she worked at the North Star Inn for many years, but her real passions were gardening, baking, cooking and her family. A special thank you to Mary-Jane of Arlington House and Red River Personal Care Home for their care and compassion. Prayers will be held on Sunday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. with Rev. Athanasius McVay, OSBM officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glenn Kubish, Jeffrey Kubish, Dominic Guirati, Frank Caron, Brian Krawchuk and James Thorsteinson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Anne to the Red River Personal Care Home, 133 Manchester Ave., Selkirk, MB R1A 0B5. To My Grandma Be patient with me For sometimes I dont recognize who you are, But talk with me, I will know Touch me, I will feel Sit with me awhile, we will laugh. Should I remember or should I not.
