ERNEST (ISAAC) WALSH After a brave struggle with cancer, Ernest (Isaac) Walsh, 89, passed away April 29, 2004. He was born in North Kildonan in 1915. Ernest will be remembered for his honesty, reliability, and great sense of humour. He was predeceased by his wife Zelda; his sisters, Esther and Betty and his brother Perry. He is survived by his daughter Debra Walsh and son-in-law Robert Knudson of Bowen Island, BC; his sister Sally Stern (Sam) and brother Harry Walsh (Irene) both of Winnipeg and his brother Sam Walsh (Millie) of Edmonton. He also leaves behind many members of the Searle family as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ernest served with distinction as a sergeant in the R.C.A.F. for six years and was the recipient of two medals. Later, Ernest ran a store in Semans, SK, was a valued employee at Winnipeg Motors and was a partner in Payless Surplus Sales. He was a committed and dedicated father who worked hard for his family all his life. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Gentle Touch, especially Cathy, whose care and devotion went beyond the call of duty. Also, thanks to the staff and residents of Heritage House and Deer Lodge Centre for their care and concern. Special thanks to Carla Toll-Borecky and Judy and Dan Chernecki for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to cancer research or Ben Gurion University of the Negev.
