BERTHA HARRIET DAVIES (nee MOFFITT) 1915 - 2004 Suddenly, on April 22, 2004, our beloved Auntie Bert, passed away in San Diego, CA, at the age of 89 years. Bertie graduated as a Registered Nurse from the St. Boniface Hospital in 1942. In the 1950s she and husband Jack moved to the land of sunshine and opportunity, San Diego, CA. She continued her career as an RN. An exemplary nurse, she retired from Scripts Memorial Hospital as a Recovery Room Supervisor in 1985, at the age of 70, with over 30 years service. After retirement, Bertie continued to live a very independent, active life. She made many trips to Canada to visit family, friends and to attend the St. Boniface Hospital Nurses Alumni Reunions. At the age of 89, she repassed her drivers test which still enabled her to maintain her independence. She regularly attended church and lunched with friends and former colleagues. Youthful, acute, vivacious and generous of nature, Bertie was a special lady who enriched the lives of family and friends alike. She will be sorely missed by all. Predeceased by husband Jack and her four siblings, Pearl Halliwell, Marietta Richardson, Elaine Hunter and Allen Moffitt. Survived by niece Marion Nesbitt and family of Winnipeg, niece Edythe Esche and family of Edmonton, and nephew Percy Halliwell of Prince Albert. A Memorial Service will be held on May 22, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at the Pacific Beach Presby-terian Church in San Diego, CA.
