JOHN OSLAND It is with great sadness, on April 29, 2004, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away, with his family by his side. John was born August 3, 1922. John will be forever remembered by wife, Doreen; daughters Gail (Blake Surman) and Carol (Dale Fossay) grandchildren Scott, Kevin, Alison Fossay, Karen, Ross Surman, and Maureen Epler; brother Norman (Margaret) sister Olive Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews. John valued his many friendships at work, at Trout Lake, Dorothy Lake, Santa Rose Florida, his bridge clubs, happy hour groups and especially time with his family. Two notable achievements are the completion of the stain glass windows of a church in Florida and his years as the president of the Fife and Drum. John is remembered for his commitment to service especially through the church, the Masons and the Shrine. He had a successful and rewarding 30 year career in sales for Moore Business Forms both in Thunder Bay and Winnipeg. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 5 at 3:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. If so desired, memorial remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Our hearts ache in sadness And many tears will flow What it means to lose you No one will ever know. Thanks for the years you gave us And for the precious time we shared We only pray when you left us You knew how much we cared. God saw you getting tired, When your heart could beat no more He put His arms around you And said, "Come with me now." Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
