Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERN BRYON POMMER Suddenly on April 29, 2004 at the Concordia Hospital, Vern Pommer, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 69 years. Vern leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, June and his children, son Rob (Jackie) and granddaughter Samantha; daughter Barb (Andre) and grandchildren, Carl, Daniel, Elias and Fred; son Brian, daughter-in-law Carol and grandchildren, Shannon, Ryan, Brenda and Roslyn. Vern is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Al and Debbie, Larry and Moira, Jerry and Terri, Bill and Shirley Pommer, Carol and Alex Zahariuk and Vivian and Jim Anderson. Very was predeceased by his son Ken Pommer in 1997. Vern was employed with CN Rail, Prairie Region for 37 years, retiring in 1995. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially his time spent at the family cabin. Vern had been the co-founder and president of the Transcona Game and Fish. He was also a member of the Shriners Drum Corp. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Peter Cain officiating. Following the service, there will be a gathering of friends and family. The family would like to convey their sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Concordia Hospital for the care and comfort provided. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
