Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDALE RONALD STEWART 1908 - 2004 Dale Ronald Stewart, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2004 at the Tuxedo Villa in Winnipeg. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of over 71 years, Ivy Thornton Stewart, son Dale (wife Linda), brother Harold, sister Reta (Ed), three grandchildren, Krista, Whitney (husband Glen), Dean Stewart, Barbara Stewart Watts (husband Alton), seven great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Ruby T. Simmons and "grand-niece" Tara Zukewich. He was predeceased by his brother Staten and sister Norma. Dale was born in 1908 in Ocheydan, Iowa to William A. and Josephine Stewart. The family moved to Canada to a farm near Balmoral, then to Stonewall and to St. Vital where Dale completed his high school. He began his 38 year career with Eatons in 1925 as part time help in the Mail Order, retiring in 1963 as merchandise manager in the retail store in Winnipeg. Dale was proud of his family enjoying his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member the Masonic Order for over 55 years and was an active member of the Shriners supporting the Shrine Hospital for Sick Children on Wellington Crescent. Dale and Ivy were among the "Snowbirds" who enjoyed many winters south of the border in San Diego and Mesa. He was an avid golfer. His most favourite times were the summers spent at the cabin they built at Clearwater Bay, Lake of the Woods in the early 1950s. He was very innovative and undertook a never ending series projects. The family would like to thank the staff at the Victoria Hospital, Misercordia Centre, Deer Lodge Centre and those at Tuxedo Villa for their care and support. Cremation has taken place. A service in his memory will be held Tuesday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 3428 Portage Ave. Reception to follow.
