DORRIS (DORRIE) MAE CAMPBELL (nee FENBY) Dorrie, at the age of 95, completed her life journey on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at The Middlechurch Personal Care Home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Percy (1973) her eldest sister, Elva; her brother, Norman (Tom) Fenby and two nephews, Wayne and John. Dorrie leaves behind to mourn her loss, her children, Archie N. Campbell (Dugald) and Patricia M. Campbell (Winnipeg) son-in-law, Gregory Gendelman; sisters, Vern Corey (Florida) and Shirley Hosch (Georgia) four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Dorries interests in life were varied and she excelled at everything she did. She was a past member of The Transcona Ladies Curling Club, The Order of The Eastern Star and The Order of The White Shrine of Jerusalem. She loved the outdoors and spent all of her summer months when her husband was alive at Minaki, ON. Dorrie was a kind and generous woman to her children, her family and others who knew her. She had a quiet and dignified manner about her and she loved to laugh. Dorrie could also be fiercely independent and steadfast in her opinion once she made up her mind and always said she had a weak spot for "the underdog" in life. She had a special adoration for the "four legged creatures" of this planet especially mans most trusted friend, the dog. Dorrie Campbell was dearly loved and will be missed on this earth. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there is no formal funeral planned. A private celebration of her life will take place at a later date with interment of her ashes beside her husband Percy in The Elmwood Cemetery. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank all the wonderful Middlechurch staff who gave Dorrie so much tender loving care especially during her final months. There could have been no better place for her to call home and she appreciated that every day of her stay.
